Dick's Sporting Goods Shopping Day

Bauerstown will be holding a shopping day at Dick's Sporting Goods in McCandless Crossing on Saturday, February 25 from 11:00am till 5:00pm. 20% off throughout the store (some exclusions apply), doesn't need to be used specifically for baseball or softball items. Doors open at 6:00 PM
Dinner begins at 6:30 PM
Races will start at 8:00 PM

Tickets can be purchased in advance or there will be a limited number available at the door. Tickets are $20 per person, which includes pasta dinner, beer, soft drinks, and mixers. You can also BYOB and snacks. Twenty-one and over, please.

We will be able to take credit cards at the door. Also, if you need more cash as the night goes on, we will have the ability to accommodate.

Remember, we have horse races to bet on, raffle tickets to buy and we will have 50/50's all night. Also, don't forget to tip your bartenders, I'm sure they will be working hard!!

Beer is included in the price of admission. You can BYOB. We have pop and a few mixers if you need them, also available at no charge. Dinner will be pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, and cookies. Feel free to bring snacks for your table/group...many have done that in the past.

This is a fundraiser, so come ready to support the organization. This is by far the largest pre-registration we have ever had, so we are very hopeful that this will be the biggest event that we have ever held!

Donations for Night at the Races

As always, we rely on our local businesses and members for donations for the Gift Basket Auction held at Night at the races. Please circulate the Donation Letter to any business owners in the area that you on a personal level. All proceeds from Night at the Races support our players and our complex.

BBSA is a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible per IRS code.

Spring 2017 Positions Available

We are looking to fill several positions for the 2017 Spring season. If you'd like to become more involved in the organization, please take a look at the descriptions of each position as listed below, and let the Executive Board know what you'd be interested in filling by emailing The Executive Board will determine who fills each position.

Equipment Manager:

  • Monitor existing equipment on hand.
  • Submit order form to the board for new equipment as needed.
  • Address any issues with current equipment (i.e. pitching machines in working order, broken or outdated equipment, etc.)

Concession Stand Captains:

  • Scheduler - schedule captains and volunteers for shifts.
  • Teen scheduler - schedule teens for shifts. Arrange training sessions for new teens.
  • Ice cream
  • Candy
  • Drinks - coordinates with Coke

Ways & Means Committee (2-3 members):

  • Contact previous sponsors and ask for continued support of Bauerstown.
  • Identify new sponsors in the area, both in Shaler and other surrounding areas.
  • Identify new ideas to entice local businesses to sponsor.
  • Assign each sponsor to a team, based on requests.
  • Provide Webmaster with sponsor information to be posted to the Bauerstown website.
  • Coordinate sponsor ads and provide to Yearbook Coordinator.
  • Report questions and issues to the board.

Events Committee (2-3 members):

  • Coordinate new fundraising events (other than Night at the Races). This includes locating and booking a venue (with board approval), entertainment, food, drinks, etc.
  • Recruit volunteers in advance of the event to help with set-up, clean-up, and general help throughout the event.
  • Recruit volunteers to solicit Chinese auction items.


  • Coordinate new and existing non-event fundraisers within the organization (i.e. hoagie/cinnamon roll sales, etc.).
  • Prepare and distribute order forms and information to managers to be provided to teams.
  • Coordinate sale dates and volunteers for product distribution.
  • Manage all payments to be provided to Treasurer.

Yearbook Coordinator:

  • Take photos during the Opening Day festivities and various other home games as available.
  • Coordinate yearbook using said photos, as well as team photos as provided by team photographer, and ads provided by the Ways & Means Committee.
  • Yearbooks must be printed and ready for distribution at BBSA Day (early June).
